Graphic Design Reflection

Something’s I learned was how to better use programs like Photoshop and illustrator. I learned a lot more about typography and how the type of font matters when making something. I also learned how to communicate correctly to a client through talking with them 1 on 1.

        

I learned this by doing tutorials and looking up how graphic designers communicate with their clients. My teacher showed us some tutorials that we could follow when we started a project.

These things are important because it allows my technical skills when using the programs to be better. Also talking to clients becomes easier having this prior experience. This will also help me if I need to ever know how my client wants something done and I can do it correctly.

My greatest strength is probably being able to get my work done on time. Most of the time I am able to get my project done correctly and turned in on time. My biggest weakness is probably being able to come up with my own solid concrete idea. I have a hard time coming up with an idea to do for something like the products we chose for the packaging.

I am going to take what I have learned and use it in everyday life. I plan on going into web design and that requires very similar skills to graphic design. I need to be able to make my own graphics and to be able to communicate with clients well.

I really enjoy doing graphic design and I hope to be able to do more with it in the future.

In this project I had to try and copy another website and try to recreate it in illustrator but as if it were and ONW site. I just looked at the original and attempted to make it look as similar as as possible. Something different I would do different is that there is a lot of white so I would probably change tat. Something that I would keep is the layout I have I think looks good. I thought this project was interesting because making a website in illustrator was cool.

Past, Present, Future

Website In this project I had to make the layout of the site in photoshop.I cut up the site into multiple images to place it into dreamweaver. I used divs in order to put the images into place.

Topic Website

This project was to create a website about a topic of our choosing. We had to use the skills we learned this year so far. I came up with the idea to do Boy Scouts for my website because I am in Boy Scouts and I am really into it. I learned that I have a hard time picking a color scheme. I used red, white, and blue as the color scheme but until  I came up with that idea i struggled with picking a color scheme. I also learned that it is important to put padding around things but not too much padding. Something I would redo would be that I would make my images look better like on the eagle badge the edges are a little rough from me removing it from its background. Something that I liked that I did was keeping the page organized. Something I will take away from this project is making sure I use the right amount of padding because the first time I did not put the right padding the the main part. I really enjoyed this project because I got to make a website about something I enjoy.
